Mr. Ernest Victor Apau, the Honourable District Chief Executive of Ho West District on Friday, 21st April 2022 has cut sod for the construction of a District Hospital at Dzolokpuita.
This project is under the Government’s Agenda 111 Projects which seeks to ensure that District, Regional and specialised hospitals are built across the country to deepen delivery of health care services for all citizens. The hospital is expected to be completed within 15 months.
Speaking at the sod cutting ceremony, the DCE called on all to give the project the maximum support. He added that when the project is completed it will boost health care delivery in the District. Hon. Apau further stated that the Assembly is ready to assist and provide support to ensure delivery of quality work.
The Chief of Dzolokpuita, Togbe Fiado IV who is also chairman of the program commended the Government for the project. He assured the contractors of their support to ensure successful execution of the project.
The Project Consultant, Arc. Sampson Awuah from Avangarde Design Services disclosed that the project is an ulta-modern facility which will be constructed by three contractors. The contractors were Messrs Top International Engineer Ghana Limited (lead contractor), Messrs Fridoug Limited and Messrs Gobco Limited.
He said the contractors will engage local labour to create jobs for the youth in the local communities. He also appealed to the Chiefs and the District Assembly to give the contractors the needed cooperation for early completion of the projects.
Madam Edith Ekpor, the District Director of Health was grateful for the project. She indicated that the construction of the Hospital will help reduce referral cases to other hospitals due to lack of a District Hospital and hoped the project will be completed on time.
The District Chief Executive handed over the site documents/plans to the lead contractor Messrs Top International Engineering Ghana Limited for commencement of work.
In an open forum, one of the contractors noted that high charges by local labour is one of the challenges they encounter as contractors. He therefore advised them to cooperate to enable the contractors achieve their set target.
