HO WEST DISTRICT ASSEMBLY ENGAGES CATTLE HERDSMEN

The Ho West District Assembly on Tuesday 13th June, 2023 held a meeting with the Cattle Herdsmen operating in the Bakpe community. The objective of the engagement was to communicate the decisions of the Ho West District Security Council (DISEC) to the herdsmen regarding the ban on cattle rearing in the area.

The Assembly has held series of engagement with the Bakpe community as well as Chiefs and people of Hlefi to address the cattle rearing menace in the area.

During the engagement, the District Coordinating Director, Mr. Wisdom Kporngor explained the reasons behind DISEC decisions and emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and harmony within the community. DISEC has given directives to relocate their cattle from the Bakpe community by 30th June, 2023.

The cattle herdsmen expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to engage in a dialogue with the Ho West District Assembly. They assured the Assembly of their willingness to comply with the decision made by DISEC.
