On Tuesday, 25th July 2023,
the Environmental Health and Sanitation Unit of the Ho West District Assembly organized a meeting with the canteen staff of Awudome Senior High School (AWUSCO) to address hygiene and sanitation practices within the canteen premises. The meeting aimed to ensure the provision of safe and healthy food to the students and staff of the school.
The canteen staff were educated on the significance of wearing headgear and aprons while working in the canteen as a preventive measures of maintaining food hygiene.
The canteen staff engaged in selling rice and wakye with salad or chopped vegetables were advised to properly wash the vegetables to eliminate any harmful contaminants to ensure safety and quality of the food served at the school premises.
The Environmental Health and Sanitation Unit will continue to monitor the canteen’s adherence to the discussed practices to guarantee the ongoing provision of safe and nutritious meals at Awudome Senior High School.
