HO WEST DISTRICT ASSEMBLY INAUGURATES ABUTIA AREA COUNCIL

The Ho West District Assembly has inaugurated the Abutia Area Council at Abutia Kloe on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. Last week, seven (7) Town and Area councils of the Assembly were also inaugurated.

The Presiding Member (PM), Hon. Osman Kasim Adamu, administered the official oath, oath of secrecy, and oath of allegiance to the council and Unit Committee members.

The District Coordinating Director, Mr. Wisdom Kporngor, introduced the model standing orders and briefed them on the council’s composition and subcommittees.

In his inaugural address, the District Chief Executive, Hon. Ernest Victor Apau, advised the newly inaugurated members to avoid engaging in partisan politics while carrying out their duties. He urged the Unit Committee members to collaborate closely with the Honorable Assembly Members to drive development initiatives.

Hon. Apau outlined the roles of the Unit Committee members, which included supporting the Assembly in revenue generation, conducting public education on government policies and programs, environmental protection, sanitation promotion, peace and security maintenance, and undertaking development initiatives, among others.

The council elected Hon. Isaac Glavi as the chairperson of the Abutia Town Council.

The Chairperson expressed his commitment to working closely with members to foster development in the area.
