The Ho West District Assembly on Thursday 30th May, 2024 held a community engagement meeting at Dzolokpuita and Kpedze. The engagements aimed to explain development issues and other activities of the Assembly and also create platform for the community members to voice out their challenges.
The District Chief Executive, Hon. Ernest Victor Apau provided an overview of the projects the Assembly has completed and the once the Assembly intends to implement. He indicated that despite the Financial challenges, the Assembly is committed to infrastructure development of the district.
The District Coordinating Director, Mr. Wisdom Kporngor talked on building permits, increase cases of incent, defilement, teenage pregnancy, drug abuse, oorganization of monthly clean up exercise, construction of model school, registration of farmers under the Planting for Food and Jobs and its activities, and construction of household latrines.
Some of the concerns raised by the comunities includes construction of speed rumps, provision of streetlights, traditions, customs, culture as against the rule of law promoting bad behaviours, simplifying the process of the building permit, support for water systems, rehabilitation of Kpedze the market.
The Chiefs of the communities were very grateful for the visit and entreated that all the issues raised are addressed.
All the concerns raised by the communities were noted for further action and consideration by the Assembly.
Accompanying the Hon. DCE were the District Coordinating Director, the District Budget Analyst, the District Finance Officer, the District Planning Officer, the District Physical Planning Officer, the District Information Officer and other staff of the Assembly.
