HWDA ORGANIZES COMMUNITY DURBAR AT KPEDZE

In the quest to deepen decentralization as well as to bring governance closer to the door step of its people, the Ho West District Assembly held a community durbar on Wednesday 15th June, 2022 at the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Kpedze.

The objective of the meeting was to communicate government’s position on the Ho West District Hospital and also to discuss other developmental issues. This was as a result of Kpedze community protesting against the relocation of the district hospital to Dzolokpuita.

The District Chief Executive, Hon. Ernest Victor Apau in his presentation explained that one of the conditions underlying in the construction of the Agenda 111 project was that all the district hospitals should be situated at the District capitals except the district capital that has an existing Hospital. He therefore urged residents to collaborate with the Assembly to ensure development.

The community after a lengthy deliberation on the matter disagreed with the message. They therefore caution the Assembly never to come to the Kpedze market for Revenue collection until all matters are solved amicably.

The community durbar was one of the heavily attended durbar at Kpedze.

In attendance was the Paramount Chief of Kpedze, Divisional Chiefs of Kpedze, Hon Assembly Members for Kpedze, Youth of Kpedze, the Media, Security Services and staff of Assembly.
