Ing. Solomon Hormeku, is currently the Head of Works Department of the Ho West District Assembly. He was employed by the Local Government Ministry in August 2001.

CAREER PATH

Prior to his appointment as the head of works. Solomon Hormeku served as Head of works at the following Assemblies Ho Municipal, La-Dade Kotopon, Kwahu Afram Plain South, Kwaebibrem Municipal Assembly, New Juaben Municipal Assembly and Krachi West.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

He holds a Master of technology in construction from University of Education Winneba (College of Technology Kumasi Campus, Bachelor’s in Building Technology KNUST, Post Graduate Diploma in Urban Management from GIMPA).

What we do

The Works Department among other things is responsible for:

Assist the Assembly to formulate policies on works within the framework of the Assembly.
Advise the Assembly on matters relating to works in the district.
Assist in preparing tender documents for all construction works projects to be undertaken by the Assembly through contracts or community-initiated projects.
Facilitate the construction, repair and maintenance of public buildings, streets lights etc, in the district.
Facilitate the provision of adequate and wholesome supply of potable water for the entire District.
Advise and encourage owners of premises to; Remove dilapidated structures or fences in any public place, remove any derelict vehicles or objects which constitute nuisance.

The Works Department is comprised of four (4) units; –

Estate Unit
