The Ho West District has placed second in the 2022 Volta Regional Reading Festival which took place on 3rd August 2022 at OLA SHS.
This was revealed when the District Director of Education paid a courtesy call on the District Chief Executive, Hon. Ernest Victor Apau in his office on Tuesday 9th August 2022.
The aim of the visit was to account for the success chalked by the District in the 2022 Volta Regional Reading Festival. The District keenly competed with 17 Districts of the region and placed second in the competition.
The District Chief Executive, Hon. Ernest Victor Apau who was excited congratulated all the four finalists of the district namely Miss Stephanie Dzidula pupil of Akome Gbogame E.P Basic, Miss Erica Ekor of Tsyome Afedo E.P Primary, Master Girentsi Deladem of Vane E.P Basic and Master Hayford Anku of Akome Gbogame E.P Basic all basic 3 pupils. He also commended teachers of the Directorate for lifting the flag of the District high.
He disclosed that the District produced the best BECE student in 2018 due to stringent measures put in place to improve education in the District.
The DCE also pledged a scholarship package to each of the four pupils annually as well as providing new uniforms for them ahead of the national competition.
The District Director of Education appreciated the DCE for participating fully in the competition.
