HO WEST DCE HAS CHARGED ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH AND SANITATION OFFICERS TO PROSECUTE SANITATION OFFENDERS

The Ho West District Chief Executive, Mr. Ernest Victor Apau has charged Environmental Health and Sanitation Officers in the District to start prosecuting people who flout the Environmental and Sanitation bye-laws of the Assembly when he joined the staff of the unit at their monthly review meeting.

According to the DCE more needed to be done to help put a stop to the indiscriminate littering of the environment, choke gutters, improper management of sanitation in homes, and open defecation among others in the district. He also added that the public needs a change of attitude to ensure cleanliness of the environment since sanitation management is a shared responsibility.

The DCE further revealed that the Assembly will organize clean-up exercises in all the town and area councils to maintain cleanliness in the District. He assured the officers of his full support and advised them not to discriminate but be firm and fair in the discharge of their duties.

 Mr. Daniel Kumah, the District Environmental Health and Sanitation Officer was grateful to the DCE and assured that his officers will continue to work to improve sanitation as well as make the district the cleanest.
