HO WEST DISTRICT ASSEMBLY  DEMOLISHED AN UNAUTHORISED  STRUCTURE AT AVATIME FUME

The Ho West District Assembly on Friday 12th August 2022 embarked on a demolishing exercise at Avatime Fume, following complaints by residents about an unauthorized structure being developed on land earmarked as a road. The three-bedroom house at footing level was pulled down in order to create access to the area.

The District Chief  Executive, Hon. Ernest Victor Apau who was part of the team indicated that the demolishing exercise forms part of ensuring that people comply with the development control regulations in the District so as to achieve orderly development of the community to enable easy access to buildings in terms of fire outbreak or ambulance service.

The DCE indicated that more of such activities will be replicated in other communities to curb non-compliance. He added that the demolishing exercise is not for witch hunt but to ensure that we work collectively to develop a layed-out District.

Mr. Emmanuel Doh, the Physical Planning Officer noted that the enforcement of the regulations is intended to protect people’s safety, health, and proper layout of the community, improve the development potential of an area, and prevent blockage of access meant for the general public.

The general public is advised to contact the Assembly for their building permits to avoid any demolishing.
