The District Chief Executive for Ho West, Honourable Ernest Victor Apau together with the National President of the Ghana National Association of Garment Makers, Mr. Mohamed M. Omar has inaugurated the Ho West District branch of the Association of Garment Markers at Dededo, Saturday September 3rd 2022.
The aim of the Association is to provide vocational skills training improve professional skills through seminars and workshops and also provide employable skills to the youth of Ghana.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, the DCE encouraged them and promised a seed cash of GH2,000.00 towards the Association. He urged the leadership of the Association to visit him again at the office to discuss issues of common interest whiles assuring them of government continuous support in order to promote the development of the local economy. He also disclosed the active role he played in mobilizing the garment Makers into an Association.
The DCE further hinted of the rolled out of Ho West Fair. He also mentioned that he will be inaugurating other three (3) trades Association including the Ho West Hair Dressers by the end of the year.
Hon. Apau encouraged young ones to take advantage of the new Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programs of government and equally take National Vocational Training Institute (NIVT) exams to professionally fit into modern trends.
The President of the Ghana Association of Garment Makers, Mr Mohamed M. Omar said forming of an association is important to the promotion of the Association agenda and also help them address challenges confronting them. He charge members to encourage others to join the Association as it will help them to exchange ideas and build network that will help their businesses.
The group in appreciation decorated Honourable Ernest Victor Apau with their association’s cloth and also ordained him as the Patron of the association in Ho West.
