HO WEST DISTRICT ASSEMBLY HOLDS SECOND ORDINARY MEETING OF THE THIRD SESSION OF THE THIRD ASSEMBLY

The Ho West District Assembly has held its Second Ordinary Meeting of the Third Session of the Third Assembly on 17th November, 2022 at the District Assembly Hall, Dzolokpuita.

The Presiding Member, Hon. Rita Semanu Eglegbe in her welcome statement thanked members for their support and commitment to their electoral areas.

She indicated that the meeting serves as a privilege for Assembly Members to deliberate on the developmental agenda, assess critical issues in the district and find ways to address them. She called for the cooperation of the general house for a fruitful meeting.

The District Chief Executive, Hon. Ernest Victor Apau in his sessional address revealed that the Assembly took 49th position out of 261 MMDAs across the country in the 2021 District League Table (DLT) and first position in the Regional level performance. He congratulated all gallant workers in the district for their efforts in achieving this fest.

On tourism, he said through Public Private Partnership between the Assembly and HERP Conservation Ghana, the Amedzofe Canopy walk is constructed and will be commissioned on Friday 18th November, 2022 to boost tourism and create income in the district.

He stressed that as part of expanding access to health delivery in the district, the Assembly in collaboration with Infanta Malaria Prevention Foundation constructed CHPs Compound at Avatime Biakpa with staff accommodation as well as provided health delivery equipment to the facility.

The DCE extensively touched on education, supply of water, Infrastructure development, Agriculture, environmental and Sanitation, rehabilitation of street lights and other social services.

Hon Apau entreated Hon. Assembly Members to be advocates for greening Ghana by reducing the bushfire in their electoral areas as we are entering the harmattan season. He also encourages all to assist the Department of NADMO to intensify education on bushfires in some areas of the district and reactivate the Community Watchdog Committee to protect our natural environment.

The DCE also presented the Executive Committee’s Report which was adopted as a working document by the House after extensive deliberation by Hon. Assembly Members.

At the meeting, the house approved the 2023 Annual Action Plan (AAP), Composite Budget, Revenue Improvement Action Plan (RIAP) and Fee Fixing Resolution respectively.
