The Ho West District Assembly on Friday 23rd December, 2022 held its General Assembly Meeting for its third session.
The Presiding Member, Hon. Rita Semanu Eglegbe in her welcome address indicated that the meeting is in fulfilment of the Assembly’s mandate to take decisions that will help improve the well being of its citizens. She took the opportunity to thank Hon. Assembly Members and Staff of the Assembly for their hard work, contribution and cooperation to ensure the development goal of the district is achieved.
In his address to the house, the Member of Parliament for Ho West, Hon. Emmanuel Bedzrah informed the house that he has been nominated to represent Ghana at the ECOWAS Parliament. He took the opportunity to congratulate the Presiding Member for her election as the first female PM of the Assembly. He also reaffirmed his commitment to the development of the district.
The District Chief Executive (DCE) of Ho West, Hon. Ernest Victor Apau presented to the house his sessional address and Executive Committee (EXECO) Report. He disclosed that irrespective of the challenges in 2022 the Assembly made few gains in the management of the Assembly regarding the district local economy development. His address highlighted on some key achievements and other government interventions towards improving the living conditions of the people.
The address of the DCE touched on Health, Education, Social Interventions, potable Water supply, Environmental and Sanitation, Infrastructural Development, Street light distribution and maintainance, Bush Fire and Agriculture, etc.
In conclusion, he called for the commitment, unity, discipline and cooperation of all stakeholders in order to drive the development of the district. He also took the opportunity to wish everybody a Merry Christmas and Prosperous New Year.
Present at the meeting were Presiding Member, the District Chief Executive, the Member of Parliament, Hon. Assembly Members, District Coordinating Director, Heads of Department/Units, Security Agencies and Staff of the Assembly
