On Monday 15th May 2023, the Ho West District Assembly Security Council (DISEC) has met with the Chiefs and Land owners of Hlefi to discuss the eviction of cattle herdsmen in the Hlefi and Bakpe Community.
It was disclosed at the meeting that there is an indiscriminate influx of cattle herdsmen in the area which is posing security threats in the district. Farmers have also raised concerns on the destruction of their crops by the cattles.
DISEC in view of this have held series of meeting between stakeholders to find lasting solutions to the menace.
It was revealed that the Chiefs and land owners wrote a letter to the District Security Council to evict the cattle herdsmen in the area and the meeting held was to affirm the decision.
DISEC after the meeting resolved to enforce the decision with support from stakeholders.
