HO WEST DCE ENGAGES ABUTIA NORVISI AND TEDEAFENU COMMUNITIES

The Ho West District Assembly, under the leadership of the District Chief Executive, Hon. Ernest Victor Apau, held a stakeholder engagement on Tuesday, September 12th, 2023, in Abutia Norvisi and Tedeafenu. The purpose of the engagement was to inform residents about the Eastern Corridor Road Development Program Phase I (ECRDP-1) and it’s ancillary facilities that they will benefit from.

Accompanying the DCE were other Heads of Department, including the District Physical Planning Officer, District Planning Officer, Director of Agriculture, District Health Director and staff, District Procurement Officer, District Engineer, Director of Social Welfare and Community Development, District Information Officer, Representative from the Education Directorate, Quantity Surveyor, Architect and the Assembly Member for the Electoral Area.

Addressing the communities, the DCE emphasized that the interaction was an essential part of the consultative process aimed at ensuring the smooth implementation of the ancillary facilities attached to the (ECRDC-I). These projects include the rehabilitation of Norvisi D/A Basic School, the rehabilitation of Tedeafenu D/A Basic School, the construction of Community Health Posts (CHPs) + existing rehabilitation at Norvisi with equipment supply and nurses’ quarters, and construction of District-level Agro-processing facility.

He highlighted that these projects would play a pivotal role in stimulating socio-economic development, creating employment opportunities, and fostering increased trading activities within the district. Additionally, he called for active collaboration from the communities to ensure the successful execution of these projects.

The community members expressed their gratitude to the DCE and his team for the initiatives and pledged their full support to ensure its successful implementation. Meanwhile, Residents appealed for the rehabilitation of the Abutia Kissifli Road and support farmers regarding value chain addition processing.
