What we do

The Procurement Unit of the Ho West District Assembly was established in 2012 as enacted by the Public Procurement Act to provide expertise and services in procurement and supply of goods, works and services for the Assembly.

Mission

The Procurement Unit exists to harmonize the procurement process of the assembly to secure a judicious, economic and efficient use of public funds to ensure that public procurement is done in a fair, transparent and non-discriminatory way while promoting competitive local industry.

Vision

Our vision is to be efficient, transparent, and accountable and professionally manage the assembly’s procurement system. Such that the Assembly attains the best value for money spent in the procurement of goods, works and services.

FUNCTIONS AS PER ACT 663

  • Coordinate with the user departments in the preparation of specifications.
  • Source for suppliers for goods and services required by the Assembly.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers.
  • Coordinate the delivery of goods to the Assembly.
  • Place Purchase Orders with selected suppliers and contractors.
  • Address supplier complaints and find solutions to them.
  • Manage contracts entered between the Assembly and its suppliers and contractors.
  • Ensure proper record keeping of all procurement related transactions in accordance with the procurement procedures required in the public sector.
  • Draft notices and other related tender documentations for the procurement of goods and services for the Assembly.
